Thanks to Stephen for pointing to the ClearURLs Firefox plugin. I can stop manually stripping tracking stuff from URLs now before sharing or linking.

ClearURLs is recommended by Mozilla. Works like a charm. Life is good again. No more tracking, no more fixing URLs manually.
