We went to the theater tonight. E had received tickets as birthday present from cousin S, who sits on the board of the local chamber music festival September Me.
It was of course a socially distanced seating arrangement.
A beautiful opening concert by the Ragazze Quartet with compositions by Caroline Shaw, specifically written for and premiered at this festival tonight.
This morning I worked at the offices of the Open State Foundation at the old Amsterdam Naval Yard. Next door the tall ship “City of Amsterdam” was moored. I took this photo as I cycled past it.
A few years ago I bought this Magnum photo print of Miles Davis made by Dennis Stockman for E. Yesterday morning the rising sun highlighted the image in her book case beautifully
Socially distanced bicycle traffic lights.
It’s definitely September: Plucked the apples in our tree, and then pruned the apple tree.
We hadn’t had much blossoming in the spring. Just a small harvest this year therefore, about 20 apples total. Quite a difference from last year, when we harvested a first batch late August and another one in September.
A few weeks ago in Haarlem, we came across Brikkon in a toy store. Basically they’re wooden templates, laser cutted so that the edges fit with Lego bricks. You can add bricks to e.g. a wooden tree, building a treehut, or adding walls to a tower to create a castle. They looked like fun, so we bought one for Y as a gift for the start of the new school year.
