A week with lots do, but did ok except for being very tired by the end of it.
This week I

  • Took a train to Delft for a meeting of the national normalisation committee for data spaces and cloud. I will be part of the Dutch delegation to the European plenary in Milano next month.
  • Had the weekly meeting of the corresponding European working group for data space standards.
  • Met payroll and paid out the annual bonuses to the team.
  • Booked my work travel for the coming 2-3 months (Poland, Italy, Luxemboug, Portugal)
  • Had the weekly client meetings.
  • With colleague F prepared next week’s session of the interprovincial digital ethics committee.
  • Visited Eindhoven for a symposium on digital ethics committees within public sector entities. Good opportunity to interact with people involved in similar roles as me.
  • Reached out to potential speakers for PKM Summit 2025.
  • Discussed and contributed suggestions to the planning of a study trip by a client and their network to a.o. the EC.
  • Spent a day in The Hague, to visit the interprovincial organisation to discuss digital ethics, as well as the Ministry for the Interior to discuss progress on our assignment to write a guide for the application of the Data Governance Act, Chapter II which deals with enabling re-use of protected data categories held by the public sector.
  • Paid my income taxes over 2023.
  • Had a board meeting of the ActivityClub foundation, that is the legal entitiy for the largest Dutch mastodon instance.
  • Created and edited a brief presentation for the Dutch parliament’s upper chamber, to be held by the interprovincial board early next month.
  • Took Y to her singing lesson.
  • Met up with a group of parents from our neighbourhood over Sunday morning coffee, and afterwards had lunch in town and browsed the shelves of a local book store.
  • Finished reading Bound Worlds by Megan O’Keefe and finished ‘De hackers die Nederland veranderden’ by Maarten Reijnders.
  • Started reading Ich kann jeder sagen: Erzählungen vom Ende der Nachkriegsordnung by Austrian writer Robert Menasse and started Orbital by Samantha Harvey.
