The end of the year is quickly approaching, with its resulting rush of work.
This week was in line with that. I weathered it well enough I feel. I’m slowly getting the hang of the routines I need to stay in a healthy zone with my work and activities. I feel things are opening up, and can see further again than I could in the past nine months.
I do need to be vigilant however, because I also notice my resilience is still pretty thin.
This week I
- Worked on the guide for usage of protected data categories under the Data Governance Act
- Had a conversation with the board of a client about the wider potential of data that companies are gathering for the corporate sustainability reporting and due diigence obligations, in the context of the Green Deal
- Had a great conversation with the team within the Danish digital strategy office about their implementation efforts w.r.t. the Data Governance Act, and their work on the connected standardisation efforts that I’m part of too on behalf of the Netherlands
- Talked to my psychologist, we’re going to space our conversations much wider apart, just as occasional check-in to see if I can make some new habits stick
- Had the weekly client meetings
- Received word that a project proposal I wrote last week has been accepted.
- Met with the team at the national statistics office that serves as a competent body under the Data Governance Act to hear how they see their role and its boundaries
- Participated in two online seminars about European data space efforts
- Worked to bring the process along to select new members for the interprovincial ethics committee, and discussed it with the client.
- Had a great conversation about spatial AI.
- Finished the surprise packaging of a gift, for the family Sinterklaas gift giving meet-up.
- Had a fun meet-up with E’s family for the Sinterklaas gifts. Fun but busy as we were hosting this year. Good to see everyone.
- Had another evening of Sinterklaas gifts with just Y and E and her parents. Y doesn’t believe anymore that Sinterklaas exists, but still she was slightly worried it would impact the amount and quality of gifts she’d receive.
- Had a conversation with a ministerial department on how to increase the participation and influence of public sector bodies and NGO’s in the now starting standardisation efforts for the Data Act and Data Governance Act.
- Did the monthly invoicing. We’re going to exceed our budgeted revenue this year. Also we have our portfolio for next year filled up to 75%, which is a great result by our team.
- Booked several trips early next year for EU data related events, also for my new colleague J who is joining me in the EU data strategy efforts.
- Took Y to her singing class.
- Over the weekend did some writing and reading, keeping a low pace.
- Watched the first Harry Potter movie with Y, now that she has read the first three books. She also finished putting together her Lego Hogwarts castle that she received as Sinterklaas gift.
