A felt as a bit of a strange week. The second half of the week I was at home by myself, while E and Y went camping near where grandma and grandpa live. With the usual daily rhythm gone it took me quite some time to find my way by myself.
This week I
- Finished the quarterly VAT returns for the tax office
- Had a meeting with my psychologist to help deal with my burn-out. My internal dialogue this week wasn’t very pleasant, but in general I find the sessions do provide helpful angels for myself.
- Struggled with starting a project proposal, decided to leave it for next week
- Did the planning for the interprovincial ethics committee for the coming months
- Had a conversation with a colleague about my current state, and my perspective on the coming weeks. Good to express some things related to my mental state and how it impacts our team
- Had a session on the overall outlook w.r.t. landing new clients.
- Pushed myself to go out of the house, and went into the city, visiting a second hand bookstore I hadn’t been before. Enjoyed walking around town.
- Went to Deventer early Sunday morning for the annual book market that is held there each August. Mostly acquired books for Y, and a handful for myself. Left around lunchtime when the crowds were getting very big.
- Tried to be outside in our garden more, rather than sitting at my desk. With mixed success.

Enjoying a coffee on the banks of the IJssel river at Deventer.
