A busy week, in which I felt sluggish.

This week I

  • spent most of Monday on company internal things, including writing a client propsal
  • chaired a board meeting of the Open State Foundation
  • had the weekly client meetings
  • had conversation about possible European activities a client may get involved in
  • offered a free ticket to the upcoming Personal Knowledge Management summit, for which I helped create the line-up
  • spent half a day at our office
  • finalised the shape of a track on data spaces that I will host at the Belgian national geo-information conference as part of the Belgian EU presidency in a few weeks
  • designed a session on scoping a possible national level data space for spatial planning
  • facilitated the quarterly session on the Dutch tactical council on the EU data strategy implementation
  • started making slides for a webinar on my personal knowledge management system for the end of March
  • took Y to her weekly drawing lesson
  • participated in a webinar by the Data Space Support Center
  • had an introductory conversation with a researcher at the Radboud University Nijmegen about their work on determining openness of LLMs. This is relevant to an updated version we’re writing on the ethical aspects of the use of generative AI at the provincial level of government
  • did the monthly invoicing for my company
  • bodged a public tender process. The request came while I was away in Switzerland last week, and I hadn’t read the details closely yet. By the time I did read it this week, it was too late to be able to complete all administrative steps before submitting a proposal before the deadline in the weekend. The specifications of the work are such that I don’t expect many others to submit proposals, so there’s a chance we can still submit if the response the client receives is not to their satisfaction
  • brought Y to her nieces for a sleep-over weekend
  • enjoyed the weekend that E had arranged to celebrate 25 years together. Together we visited a nice museum, had a lovely dinner, and had a great walk along the beach and through the dunes, near Bergen.
