About

Blog Interdependent Thoughts maintained since 2002 by Ton Zijlstra.
European citizen in a networked world. Based in the Netherlands, living in Europe, working globally. There are no Others. There is just me and many of you.

I write about how our digital and networked world changes how we work, learn, decide and organize. I explore the tools and strategies that help us navigate the networked world. I am passionate about increasing people's ability to act (knowledge), and their ability to change (learning). Key-words: open data, open government, fablabs, making, complexity, networked agency, networked learning, ethics by design.

    • Blogging {:} a Life My friend Peter has been blogging for exactly 20 years yesterday. His blog is a real commonplace book, and way more than my blog, an eclectic mixture of personal things, professional interests, and the rhythm of life of his hometown. When you keep that up for long enough, decades even, it stops being a random […]

    • ICO’s Echo Dot Com Bubble A good quote from Thomas Madsen Mygdal 4 billion dollar ico yesterday. Seen a generation and tech with big potential end up in ipo games, greed, speculation and short term thinking – “saw the beast of capitalism directly in it’s eyes” is my mental image of the dotcom bubble. A natural consequence of any technology […]

    • Quick Reboot Update Although Martin, Lee and I haven’t figured out yet what we’re going to do in our session on diversity tomorrow morning, Frank and I did do an unplanned session this afternoon on personal management strategies, like Getting Things Done, amongst others. This as a result of the back channel discussion during a presentation on Gootodo.com […]
