Will be speaking at State of the Net (SOTN) next month, in Trieste, about networked agency. I’m also on the steering committee of SOTN.
I just also confirmed speaking at the opening of the FOSS4GNL conference in July on ethics, local societal impact and shifting landscapes. (I was invited based on my keynote at the global FOSS4G in 2016)

About

Blog Interdependent Thoughts maintained since 2002 by Ton Zijlstra.
European citizen in a networked world. Based in the Netherlands, living in Europe, working globally. There are no Others. There is just me and many of you.

I write about how our digital and networked world changes how we work, learn, decide and organize. I explore the tools and strategies that help us navigate the networked world. I am passionate about increasing people's ability to act (knowledge), and their ability to change (learning). Key-words: open data, open government, fablabs, making, complexity, networked agency, networked learning, ethics by design.

    • Going Semifreddo Turkey on FB It’s never been a secret that Facebook is a data hungry monster, and I have always acted in that knowledge. There are reasons why FB is valuable as a tool for me, there are a range of others why FB is all wrong. Feeling increasingly uncomfortable, it is time to create a path for myself […]

    • Facilitating Open Space Friday at BlogWalk 1.0 I found myself in the role of facilitator of the first part of the program. We planned the morning as an Open Space event, and though it was planned otherwise, I facilitated it on my own, never having done Open Space before. As I was preparing I took the last meeting […]
