The Jesus Incident

Whipping Star is a funny and ironic story where the extinction of the last of the Caleban needs to be prevented to prevent the extinction of mankind. As with other Herbert stories ecological notions play a role here again. With 176 pages (at least in my 1969 version) it is a quick read. It seems to be out of print, but second-hand copies can be obtained through Amazon nevertheless (although for second hand I would just browse through a local 2nd hand bookshop, just for the smell of old books, the fun of serendipity and the potential for surprise)
